Write me a Lyric

is a personal journey in songwriting. Basically, I’m finally making progress on the guitar, and I’ve felt for a while that there is music locked up inside me. So I’m (slowly) learning to let it out by writing lyrics. At first it’s like pulling teeth to open up. Then it gets frustrating as I can’t make the pen channel my emotions. But gradually, with lots of red ink, I can distill a few pages of stream of consciousness to something that resembles a song.

This tumblog will be a combination of things that inspire me, works in progress, scribbled notebook pages, and eventually, my own songs. Maybe really, really eventually, I’ll even get up the nerve to record a couple.
